Bad call Hall of Fame

Postby iceman5 » Tue Sep 27, 2005 10:19 pm

If this doesnt belong in the bad call hall of fame, then I dont know what does.

$1/$2 NL.

UTG and UTG+1 limp, I raise to $12 with [Kc][Ks]. MP with $150 calls, everyone else folds.

Pot is $31. Flop comes [Th][7s][2d]. I bet $20 and he calls.
Pot is $71. The turn is the [Kh]. I bet $40 and he calls.
Pot is $151. The river is the [9d]. I push in and he calls his last $90.

He has....get ready for this.....[Ac][4c]

I swear........and NO....you cant have his screen name. Hes all mine.

By the way, I bet only $40 on the turn because I thought he either had a set and would raise me, or he had nothing that he could call with. I guess he couldve had 98, but thats hard to believe he would call 6BBs preflop with 98 so I didnt even consider it. I really thought he had a set and would push the turn.

That's funny, he never raised, he just plain called all the way with nothing, maybe it was a bot on tilt??? Just kidding, anyways easy money.

One question, did you have any kind of stats on that guy??

Gotta love these guys!!!

If I may hijack a little bit: We had a guy (who hasn't shown up again but whom we miss very much) who called all the way to the river in a highly contested pot with A, Q and J on board with... gues what? 65o!!! He did make a straight draw on the river, where he still called something like $50...

I'm not sure exactly where to put these guys in the scheme of Schoonmaker's Psychology of Poker... ;)

There's a guy on Empire/Party I've played with at $100NL. I have about 300 hands with him and he's down about $700.

I watched him last night raise pf x3bb with 2[d] 2[c]. Flop was k[h] T[d] J[d] and he had three callers. He called pot sized bets on every street losing most of his stack and lost to A[h] K[d]. What did he think he was beating?

Amazing... and no you can't have his name either. I don't want a line at the ATM machine.

When you find somebody like this, do you think they're consistently a bad player or just playing drunk one night? Do you find that other people at the table are quietly taking money from the fish or berating them which is stupid b/c it scares them away?

When they lose like this nobody says anything until they leave (which he did after this hand), but when they win somehow, they usually get blasted by the guy who got sucked out on. This hand is a prime example of why you should just leave them alone. Imagine if he had folded on the river. i wouldve never known what he had. I guarantee that he makes those bad calls all the time but you never knew he was doing it because he folded, so when he does catch a mircle and wins, just leave him alone. Let him hit one miracle in peace because hes losing alot more of these horrible calls that you dont knwo about.
