TILT - the series on ESPN

Did you watch it?

What do you think?

A few things struck me as very out of place or odd... maybe that's my inexperience.

First, I can't imagine the cheating as they're portraying it happening. Sure, there might be "teams" doing this sort of thing, but I don't see casino involvement in these sorts of schemes. I get the impression that the government controls over gambling establishments are much too tight to allow that.

Second, some of those "winning" hands would never have been played by a pro. The only one I can really see working was the 45 [d] and maybe the one that Matador broke the hick sheriff with.

Given the story line and characters, I really liked the cameos by Negranu and Cloutier. I think that watching respected pros like them walk away from a table with a comment like Dan's might send up a couple flags in my mind if I'm at that table...

Anyway, my impression is they're taking some creative liberties. I suppose that's what they need to do to keep the series entertaining though. If we just want to watch poker, well, that's why they're broadcasting WSOP, right? ;)

I missed but will catch one of the many re-runs. I am sure it is going to be like the football one. They over played drug use in that one but it is for entertaint only there not trying to teach poker nor are they making a docrumentrary.

Boy did I spell that wrong! Hooked on phonics and to lazy to use spell check right now!

I watched and was not impressed. Can only assume that Vegas didn't like the fact the owner of the casino was involved w/ the cheating. If it really like that then I don't want to be pro. I figure it was just over the top.

Pure garbage. Awful, terrible, stinks worse than the mackerel cliche. Vegas poker is crooked.

Have you heard the premise for Tilt II? Online poker is rigged.
