AQ calling an all in?

Postby AlamedaMike » Mon Sep 19, 2005 2:33 pm

I don't have time to format the nicely - the bottom line is I raised with AQ got one caller and a $3 all in call which we called.

I only called the re-raise b/c it was only $3.

The flop was Q and I BTP. Jerk raises me all in with QJ and hits a Jack on the Turn.

I called an all-in with only TPTK but damn.

Comments. My 3rd bad beat in 30 minutes.

This was the second one that I called an all in with the best hand and got beat. I had 88 and the flop had paired 5's. The SB check raised me his last $13 and I called the remining $6. He got a runner runner straight with an Ace Ten offsuit - he did have outs to an Ace or a Ten.

54532

I wish I could track bad beats or re-draws to see if they really happen only 17% of the time. Just seems more - I guess it is a trick of the memory.

Last night I flop 2 pair and the player hits his kicker (Q) on the Turn.

Maybe we should only play hands that hold up better against possible re-draws if that is possible.

Like never play an Ace with a kicker less than a Queen. never play a pair less than a 9. Don't get overconfident with anything but top set and top 2 pair.

Too tight?

Hope this link here is okay? If not delete it. Since I play at FTP I get these in the mail.
