I know that leading into the raiser when you're OOP and have flopped a set is a very powerful play, but how do you counter this if you're the raiser? Barring a read, is it even possible?

For example, you hold AA in the CO and you make your standard raise to 6BB after 3 people have limped in before you, you get one caller from EP. The flop comes something like J 9 4 rainbow and he leads into you for a 2/3 or pot sized bet. Against a solid opponent, does anybody ever fold this? Lets say you don't and you make a hefty raise and he moves all in on you, it's a clear fold then right? (considering you still have a substantial ammount left in your stack)

Thoughts?

With no reads on the guy I am making a large reraise on the flop and if he come over the top I am probably all in. There are so many hands that he could have that you already have beat. He could be on a straight draw ( Q 10, K Q), he could have KK or QQ. He might even have AK and is trying to steal your momentum.

Or he might have a set and you lose . I am still getting my money in on this one. The board would have to be a little more scary for me to fold here.

Raising is fine, but if there are no draws, its not mandatory.

If he has a J, he has only 5 outs. (2 outs if he has AJ).
If he has a set, YOU only have 2 outs. In other words, its very hard for him to outdraw you.

If I have no read, I may just call him down.
