KK flush and push

Postby shobute » Sat Sep 10, 2005 3:01 pm

Howdy,

Here's a NL100 hand.

I'm in the BB with the [Kc] [Ks].
MP (TAG) open raises to $3, slightly LAGgy behind him calls.
Folds to me and I pop it to $10.
Bettor folds, caller calls.

Flop [Ac] [2c] [7c].
I lead for $8 into the $24 pot.
He makes it $20.
I push for $90 more, he has it covered.

What do you think about my play?

Thanks!

I think ur flop bet was too small. You should have made a pot size bet and hopefully taken it down there. He may be on something like AK or AQ. If you bet the pot and he raises i would PUSH. He would have a real hard time calling that. If he calls and u see the turn i would push un less the board pairs and even then i may still push. What do ya think??

If you go pot and he reraises then you're not going to have much fold equity at all since he has to raise to at least 48 and that leaves you with only 42 to go over the top. You really have to be able to lay this down if you put in a good bet on the flop and he comes over the top...however, since you still had an additional $70 to reraise him, you have a lot more fold equity than if you only had $42 and if he's got any sort of an A then you want to have fold equity as a consideration since you're drawing, even though the pot odds may barely be on your side.
