This guy check raises me all in with a str8 draw. I called with absolutely nothing which proves that the guy had ZERO folding equity. This is the picture of how NOT to play a draw.

What was your thought process for calling his all in? Was it b/c his push was basically a pot committed push?

Not trying to hijack, but I've noticed that its hard to steal against a short stack because if you bet the pot on the flop, well they're pretty much gonna push anyway (so my flop BTP bet had no fold equity).

I don't see why his play here is so bad. While personally I wouldn't want to play 23 heads up, that flop was good for him and not too scary. I probably would have raised allin here as well. He's probably thinking that you were continuation betting, which of course you were, and he wants to put you to a decision. By raising allin he's just doing the typical semibluff. I understand that there was already $57 in the pot and for you to call his allin it was only $22.40. So, in order for you to call you would have to know he is bluffing, without an ace or a better king, a little more than half the time. I guess you had a great read on the guy cause I can't see calling with a K10 here cause its probably going to lose more than half the time.

I think his play was fine.

If he assumed you had AK or the like, and was utilizing his read he was only a 45% dog or so. I think although his preflop call was miserable his flop push was pretty good assuming that you didn't hold AQ but more like AK AJ, with AJ being even easier to fold. You actually held a worse hand than that.

I can't argue with your flop call because of the stack sizes but I think give him another $25 and that it becomes a bad call another $50 and a miserable call and very borderline as it stands.

I made that call because this guy was absolutley terrible. I was getting 5-1 on my money and I honestly thought that he had a draw ( I thought it was the flush draw).

I wouldnt make that call against many people and I wouldnt have made it if he had more money. The point of the post though is that to play a draw like that, you need a certain amount of folding equitywhen you push because you cant possibly be ahead with 3 high. He had no fold equity because he was so short. The reason I posted the hand was just to prove how low his foldig equity is in a situation like this. Its as close to zero as possible if I called with KT here.

A better play by the opponent would just be to move all his chips in, instead of check raising.
