1) Who Calls This? Just the fish?

I've been working on folding these. I couldn't here...

Flop (1.50) [Tc][9s] SB checks, BB checks, Phish bets 1.00, Folds to Button who pushes 15.00, Phish goes into the tank... (I have two cards to come to get an OESD {mightnot be best} and for the nut flush - let's call it 12 outs, twice, for 24 outs. I'm a bit over even odds...) Phish pushes in, Button calls.

Turn, River (50.50) [9d]

I should have waited for a better spot. Even money is NOT a good place to put a stack in. Villain had (white:) Js 7c



2) My new favorite move from EP on an aggressive table

Every once in a while I get roasted on this move. Two are here, with various results...

Hero has $25.40
Villain has $26.20, not enough hands to get PT stats

Phish in UTG w/ [Ah], calls (At least 3 people behind me bring it in to the pot with a raise over half the time they come in... the'll raise.), folds to SB (ACK!) who folds, BB checks.

Flop (0.60) [4s][6c] (Ugh, I'm going to have to fold my rockets...) BB checks, (Let's see if he has even one six...)Phish bets 0.25, BB calls (nope, probably not)

Turn (1.10) (Here's hoping he's not slowplaing 66...) BB checks, (Well, could be a slowplay, he could have nothing. Let's not scare him off a flush draw if that's where he's going...) Phish bets 0.50, BB calls

River (2.10) BB bets 5.00 (Huh? Well, if he's got quads, I lose my stack. That's all there is to it.), Phish pushes in, BB calls.

BB had (white:) Kc 5c

OK, that one did not go anywhere near according to plan. I can't believe so many people folded. I got SOOOOOOO lucky to hit that boat there... The funny thing here is that two hands later it folds around to him in CO and he pushes. I'm in the SB with AA again. He left the table after that.

Next one's more along the lines of my goal for this move...

SB has 44.35 and is a super-LAG

The table, again, is highly aggressive pre-flop.

Phish UTG with [Ah] and calls 0.25, folds to CO (Not again!) who calls, Button calls, SB raises to 2.00 (Whew!), BB folds, Phish pushes, CO insta-folds, Button goes into the tank and folds, SB calls.

Board (52.45) (well, doesn't matter...)

That's how that move is supposed to work...

And yes, if we got to a flop with Aces, I'd treat 'em just like queens when said queens are an over-pair. They're just an overpair...

Wanted to record the odds here...

1) AA vs Underpair: 4:1 favorite

2) AA vs. A-Paint Suited: 7:1 favorite

3) AA vs. Suited Connector: 3.5:1 favorite (worst case)

I know this move is not going to work as I move up limits. But I'm stuck at NL$25 and NL$50 until I stop calling bets I shouldn't call, and it'll work there.

Besides, if I raise so little that someone can follow me in, I'll probably have to fold to any large bet. That means I'll probably fold too much, way too much more than AA should lose. Yeah, I like getting the money in before the flop with these.

Hmm... and in yet another revelation that has probably been plastered all over this board...

If you're going to call a big pre-flop raise, you're better off doing it with suited connectors than with a pocket pair. Especially if the suited connectors don't need high cards to make their straight. A-Paint suited is only reasonable if you're not up against AA.

When this play does NOT work, it's a stack killer. I checked AA UTG, checked and folded all the way around. GRRRR. All in on the flop. I get whacked by 45 2 paired. That day NOTHING worked, including a usually very nice play.

Hand 1-- That's a hand where you push instead of calling a push. i'm not sure it's EV to call a push here.
