Am I ever going to win again (whining Again sorry)

I hate party poker and as of this morning I ma done with their BS games. Last night I played close to 200 hands, didn't get A's, K's, Q's, J's. I am playing at a table with one of my favorite maniacs. he raises to $3, I call with 88, flop is 84J. I check he bets $10, he has been over betting the pot all night. I call the turn is a 5, now there are two clubs on board. I check he goes $10 again, I raise all in for another $25. He calls, the river is a 3, he turns over 62o and wins with a runner runner straight. You have gotta be kidding me,

Next hand I play I limp with AK, again maniac makes it $3, he has raised every hand. flop is AK4. I check he makes it $20 this time, I push all in again, turn is a blank, river is an 8, he turns over 88 and wins with a set. I decided to call it a night, before I went on tilt, I played 195 hands and won 4. Lost $150

This morning i got up and decided to mix it up a little and play some stud. I played 78 hands without winning one. This list of out draws was great too, gut shot with no pair on the last card vs my trip 6's. he hits I dont fill up. Than my rolled up AAA gets no help and someone who has been calling me all the way down catch a pair of exposed 5's on 6th which makes trip 5's and a 4 on the river to make a boat, to make matters even better it was the case 5. If you add all this BS up it has to be somewhere like 1:100,000 except is seems to happen all the time on party.

I've suffered days similar... here's how I think about them.

If I'm suffering this sort of bad beats, I step back, take a breath, sit out a few hands, and think very critically about whether or not I've made the right decisions at the time.

If I have consistently made good decisions, I'll go right back in there and keep it up. Eventually the odds will even out and when they do, I'll be back up.

If I haven't been making good decisions, I try to figure out why. If I think I can correct it immediately, I'm back in and fixing it.

If the bad beats just keep up (everyone can have an off night) or my head's just not in the game, I'm out for the night. It's better to win nothing by walking away than to lose a lot on a bad night.

Sometimes, if I'm particular cranky with the site(s), I'll jump into a few play money games and go complete maniac mode. Sometimes it's fun.

Other times, it's just good to walk away from the PC and watch some TeeVee or hang out with the family or even play an MMOG or something...

Phish you are right, I just needed to vent a little, it has been a rough couple of days for me in the poker world and I dont always take it as well as I should. I have heard it said that the true test of your poker skills is what you do when things aren't going well, and this is a part of my game that needs work sometimes. I went and took a physics quiz after my stud ass kicking and I feel a little better. I think I'm going to take the weekend off and relax, maybe get some studying done =) .

Ouch. I hate it when someone calls with an underpair and hits a set. Easily my least favorite suckout.

Don't know how many times I've said it...but I left Party/Empire because of that crap. The games I play on Prima are very passive. I may not win as much hourly, but my stack isn't at risk as often and my varience is a hell of a lot lower. And I can actually PUT THEM ON A HAND. lol... With Party's low stacks and crazy play, it's almost never correct to fold, even though you have no idea what they hold.

I hate that site. I'm glad I got out of there with some profit. I'm not going back anytime soon.
