I'm a LAG monster...

Postby Tokenizer » Mon Aug 29, 2005 10:52 am

I was playing a loose game at the time and putting a lot of pressure on people... this is a huge image factor type hand where I put him on a draw and he didn't give me credit for anything. The setup was that I limped on the button which I almost never do, I've been outplaying these guys on FTP and showing some big bluffs along the way so my image is junk at this table. A limp from me in that position should be a huge warning sign for those paying attention, I've raised most every pot I've been in to $6-$8 with a continuation bet.

Anyone make the call thinking it's the last resort of a missed draw (your read on this player)? I don't think a set is possible given the action. He would have pushed the turn on a set so the call adds weight to the fact he was on a OESD or flush draw and is tired of my aggression.

Thoughts?

He thought his bottom 2 pair had you. You mean LAG you!

Did he re-buy or leave after the hand?

I change gears a lot, it's based on reads and table texture. There are times when TAG is the way to be and there a times when a LAG is the correct style. I've left money at the table many times and people have to think "this guy's a fish" but normally I'm setting up a play for later, like this one, that makes all that back and more. One thing is for certain, you have to be able to read players well to play a good LAG game, if you're not you're simply a maniac.
