Possible to fold Aces here?

Postby CocaCola » Fri Aug 26, 2005 3:57 pm

Played 1/2 at Full Tilt Poker.

Villain has 91 hands in my database
pfr 2.2%
agg .70
vpip 20.88%
Looks like a typical passive player, but is he?

I look at [Ad][Ah] on the button, two people limp in, i pop it to 6, blinds fold, limpers call
(the ppl here seem very tight, i want to keep them around for the flop)

[4d][9s][7s] check check, i bet 15 at 21 pot, villain calls, other folds
(i should've bet pot but do you guys think a draw would call pot sized bets?)

[4d][9s][7s][8c] check, i bet 40 at 51 pot, villain calls again
(im getting worried two cold calls, i hope its a draw)

[4d][9s][7s][8c][7c] villain goes all-in 72, 131 pot. Am i weak if i fold here?
(missed draw?)

I don't think that is a bad fold. My guess is he has 9 7 and rivered a full house.

If he's tight he probably doesn't have 97 but a PP that he hit on the flop. Folding is probably right but knowing myself, I'd talk myself into calling.

Raise bigger preflop and you'll avoid alot of these situations.

They way you played it, its fine to fold.

Raise more pf.

Check the turn. Your flop bet is healthy. He limped then called your raise (hello small pockets?). You're probably against a set here. Hence, check the turn.

i tried putting villain on a winning hand, but i figured him for top pair or a busted draw. i called his bet and he showed a busted nut flush draw. next time i'll raise more preflop to avoid these predicaments
