1/2 trips in the blinds HU. thoughts?

Postby Stelvask » Fri Aug 26, 2005 11:57 am

opponnet is unknown - i've been sitting out for a bit and just got back and postd my blind.

Normally i'd be aggressive with this hand, but i chose to play it differently.

Anyone fold to his river raise? i'll go out on a limb and assume no one would reraise here.

I would call as well. But I might have just called his initial bet on the river. He has bet into you on every street and he doesn't seem to be to concerned with the 2 4's on the board. I would call but would not be surprised if you are beat.

Well you both have random hands, so if you both have 4s, you're behind to 2xA, 4xK, 2xQ, 4xJ, 2x2 = 14 hands and ahead to 4x3, 4x5, 4x6, 4x7, 4x8, 4x9 = 24 hands.

[I'm discounting AA+QQ; and 22 seems unlikely, though just possible]

So I'd have reraised all-in since I don't expect him to get away from weak trips in a heads-up battle.

I think I would have reraised the turn ... he's had his fun, now let's chop off the flush draw (and hope he hit the A)...
