I realize now my all in raise on the turn still put him at just about the correct odds to call so I guess he didn't make a bad decision. When it happened I classed it as a suckout but I guess not. I guess this analysis thing really is a good idea. But still is my move a +EV more -EV move or 0EV. Should I have picked up on anything? Is this the move you would have made? Should I have just pushed on the flop because at that point it wouldn't be correct odds to call. Anyones help is appreciated.

If it's a $25 table what are you doing with only $11? If you had $25 you could put him all-in ad he would not have the odds to chase.

Also, nobody around here (as far as I know) is a fan of a minraise preflop. If he raises to 85c and you want to reraise, you should make it at least $2.50, I would say.

Otherwise no problems at all with the way you played it. He played bottom pair like a hand then caught a runner-runner. Nothing to do.

It was my first time at 10c/25c. I had previously been playing 5/10 successfully for a month and I wanted a taste. I went in with $15 although I know I should be in with the max at all times. M BR is only $170 though.

Zuccala, he was playing 5 cent/10 cent, as Kent I can point out two things I dont like here. First the raise preflop is way to small. There have been some long discussions here on min raising preflop, personally I hate it, it does nothing but give you opponant odds to call and catch. Make a real raise preflop make it $2, or $2.50. Winning preflop with queens is not such a bad thing, you win a hand and dont have any chance of losing.

#2 is I will never play a game short stacked, if I lose some money I reload, this is a prime example. If you raise preflop to $2.50 get called, now there is $5+ in the pot, you bet out $6 or so and are now giving him bad odds to chace and you are making a true +ev play.

A guy named Barry Tannenbaum (BarryT at UPF) who writes for Cardplayer once told me that the great NL players fold the best hand all the time.

I contemplated that statement for a long time and when it finally sunk into my think skull, my play got dramatically better overnight.

There have been many times where I had something like AQ and bet a Qxx flop. I got raised and folded. Im not saying i fold there everytime, but depending on stack sizes, who the player is, the texture of the other flop cards and other factors...this can be a very good fold.

Sorry for the hijack. I just think that the phase "Great NL players fold the best hand all the time" should be taped onto everyones monitor so they see it every day, as the power of a fold can not be taken lightly
