6-max, but don't let that stop you reading

I haven't posted any hands for ages, and was interested and unsure by the conclusion of this one.

Before I give any history, the start of the hand:

Good-looking player with >$600 stack on each of several tables raises to $8 UTG+1. I call with [Th] on button. Not-too-awful girl calls in BB.

Flop [As][4s], $25. Checked around.
Turn . Checked to me ... I bet $15, BB calls fairly quickly
River , $55. I have the boat. [EDIT]Girl has $100 left.[/EDIT] BB checks.

BB has "sane calling station" tendencies ... I've played her in 2 hands:
(i) I raise with A6, she calls with 55 and calls my 2/3 pot bet on a Q74 flop, the hand is checked down.
(ii) I raise with KTs she calls. Flop [2s][4h], I bet 2/3 pot she calls. Turn K, she checks I disconnect (not on purpose!). She bets $10 on a blank river, I call and she has [Ts].

In general, I've been the most aggressive player at the table, but nothing too outrageous.

OK ... so ... do I value bet (1/2 pot), pot it, or represent a bluff by moving in? Hand ranges please...

I think a lot of players including myself lose a lot of value in this spot by betting too much. A half pot sized bet of $30ish doesn't feel like enough money to be satisfied with, with such a big hand, so we bet more and hope it looks like some bluff. However, in my opinion the fact of the matter is that a standard value bet is the highest EV play and as such should be done. I say throw out $35 and be satisfied.

Um, as I understand it, the girl just flat called preflop. She didn't bet out on a 3-flush board to protect her hand. Why the thought that she has AA? You're beating A8 and every other hand. If she has 88 that's just poker. Value bet and call an all-in.

I put her on the following range:
- K/Q, poss J high flush
- trip 8s (though unless she has a high spade to go with it, she's played it pretty badly)
- A + reasonable spade
- Some sort of monster (unlikely, see ps at the bottom)

So ... you're holding one of the above hands. An aggressive player bets when a second 8 turns, then value bets/pots/pushes when some blank (the T) rivers.

I think a flush calls, A + reasonable spade folds (except to value bet), trips I'm not sure.

I wondered at the time whether a push was more likely to get a call than a strong bet. I'm worried that a value bet doesn't get enough ..er.. value from the strong hands that are likely to call a big turn bet. Thoughts?

Trodgers - I don't have any more of a read than those 2 hands ... no PT stats, as I'm working on my Jedi player reading skills at the moment
Big Phish - no way I ever fold this for $100 ... even if she has $200 and pushed, I still call I think (in case she has 44 or the nut flush) ...

ps river check raises are quite rare, at least in the games I've played, since players aren't good enough to predict when their opponents will or won't bet!

Everyone wants to value bet, I'm not convinced ... the call on the turn seems so strong given that board.

FWIW, I bet $50. She thinks for ages then calls with K8 (no spades, I guess they were suited though).

Still not sure if I was slightly greedy and got slightly lucky (leaving aside the huge suckout river!), or left money on the table...
