PTBB/100 hands

Postby 80Proof » Thu Aug 25, 2005 7:17 pm

In an attempt to judge my results (or lack of), what is an appropriate PTBB/100 hands at the $25NL and $50NL games? How much (if at all) would this change when moving up to $100NL? I have just under 10,000 hands in my current PT DB and was wondering if I am on track. I know this has been posted before, I even remember reading it, but I could not find it in terms of how it changes when moving up limits.

Thanks,

I have seen sustained winning rates of 10PTBB/100 and above at 1/2 NL tables.

At NL$25 you should be above 10PTBB/100.

Last month, over about 5,000 hands, I was at 19.11. I was basically nut peddling and getting paid off. I find it almost impossible to pull anything more complicated than a simple continuation bet or a check raise at $25NL.

At the end of July my roll more than supported $50NL but I decided to stick to 25 until I had a full 10,000 hands. This month has been pretty lame, down to just under 12 PTBB/100. Not sure if I am just running bad, variance is catching up, or what. My roll still supports the move to $50NL but I cant see doing that after a bad month.

Any things I should look for in PT as far as leaks, trends etc?

Is the nut peddling at $25NL a bad idea? Should I crank it up?

All thoughts welcome.

Thanks,

If your win rate after 5000 hands was 19.11PTBBs, then you were running very well and luck was bound to catch up with you.

You are now at 10K hands with a 12PTBB win rate, right? I wouldnt be worried about anything. Thats damned good.

Yeah, I was running hot for sure. It seemed like every PF raise I made w/ AK hit on the flop etc. Now, I'm lucky to even get AK. It just seemed to be odd that I ran so hot for one month and then so not for this month.

What would you suggest before I make the move up to $50NL? I've dabbled in it a few times with mixed results. Should I put another few thousands hands under my belt first or go ahead an jump?

Also, I fogot to ask this again.......

Should I be just nut peddling at $25NL? Seems like only a rare few players are capable of making any kind of laydown (I play at Party). Seems safer to just wait for my lock hands b/c they will still pay me off even though I havent played a hand in 20 minutes. Thoughts?

Over 30k hands at $25nl I was able to hold a 12.56 bb/100. Since moving to $50nl it has dipped to 7.09 ptbb/100. A lot of people will say that the $25 and $50 are the same, but I disagree. There are a lot of similarities, but you don't get as many players calling big bets with flush draws and not quite as many 'any ace any place' guys.
