AA..Call/Fold?

Postby APerfect10 » Tue Aug 23, 2005 4:00 pm

Only have 44 hands on villian therefore this is his first time playing at this level on Party (or at least in the past 2 months). So far he is 16/9/3. Other than that, I have no reads...

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $200 NL APerfect10 (10 handed)

saw flop|saw showdown

UTG+1 ($39)
UTG+2 ($208.85)
MP1 ($182)
MP2 ($199.90)
MP3 ($200)
CO ($227.90)
Button ($195.90)
SB ($337.65)
APerfect10 ($341.20)
UTG ($221.05)

Preflop: APerfect10 is BB with [As], [Ad]. SB posts a blind of $1.
6 folds, CO raises to $7, 2 folds, APerfect10 raises to $28, CO calls $23.

Flop: ($61) [3d], [8h], [6h] (2 players)
APerfect10 bets $45, CO calls $45.

Turn: ($151) [Qh] (2 players)
APerfect10 checks, CO calls $152.90 (All-In)

Is it a call or a fold? Also, when that heart turns, should I lead rather than check especially since I do not have the Ah. What if I had the Ah?

This a tough one for sure. If I had the [Ah], I call. I might have just pushed the turn myself so I wouldnt be out in this spot.

The odds of him having the flush are lower than normal since he raised preflop. And why would he push all in after hero checked if he had the flush. He definately doesnt have the nut flush. I think he has KK with the [Kh] or AQ with the [Ah].

Either way, youre getting 2:1 and your the fav. I think I call, but like I said, I think I wouldve pushed the turn myself.

any chance QQ would be played like this? i have no experience at 200NL so i dont really know...but. if he's not bluffing..doesn't it have to either be either QQ or [Ah] [Kh]?

I find it hard to beleive he would push with [Ah][Kh] or QQ He's more likely to slow play or value bet that.

I'm leaning strongly to KK or JJ with a heart. I would call.

I would push myself on the turn with a heart in my hand.

I could see him playing QQ like that. Especially if he puts Hero on KK or AA (Which he probably does after the preflop reraise). He would be fearing a 4th heart coming out on the River that would beat him if hero was holding [Ah] or [Kh].

I put him on AQ with the A of hearts. 7 bucks is a standard raise.

QQ is possible but I can't put him on that because he should have raised the flop to see where he was. What did he gain by just smooth calling? AKh, AJh, ATh could all feasibly be raised.

The only thing you are beating that would be played like this is KK, JJ and AQ. All of these hands I am sure he has at least 1 heart for a redraw.

A read would really help to see if he would stab like that with a scare card coming. I have played some hands at party (almost 4k so far). I put him on one of these 6 hands. AKh, AJh, ATh (I'm Dead). KK, JJ, AQ with Ah I am ahead but I am sure he has a redraw and has outs. He however smooth called a 20+ reraise.

Not sure there is much I would have done differently. My first instinct says to fold and I typically let the first one make the decision.
