Sometimes you just got to display some heart

Disclaimer: And a little bit of luck doesn't hurt either :lol:

What a hand. I put this guy to the test preflop, on the flop and on the turn and he managed to call with a very sad hand but the best hand nonetheless but the old river got him.

*vomits*

I hope you don't make this play often. If you do, that explains why he would call you all in with A5.

I agree w/ bri... WOW that was just bleh... I mean, I think he totally played it like a bozo... But, 42o is kickin your ass there... I think if you're SURE he doesn't have a 4 and you wanna push him off, you have a halfway decent chance if you reraise/push the FLOP... Either way though... bleh...

Your heart DEFINITELY has more of a BR than I do... :shock: :shock: :shock:

I hope you stayed around the table for a couple more hours so all these guys could call you down w/ their 3rd pair thinkin they're ahead...

I actually had a hand similar to this on the 10/20 NL. Sometimes you just get stubborn and think you can mow the other guy over. This is a tilt hand, so I dont want anyone to think that I am advocating this play...

Get [7c] [8c] in LP. 4 MP & LP limpers, I raise to 140, trying to win the pot right there. BB calls, rest fold.

Flop = [Jd] [Jc] [4d] Pot = $370

BB bets $300. I call.

I put this guy on TT or maybe QQ. I decide to blast him off the hand on the turn and rep AA.

Turn = [Jd] [Jc] [4d] [5s] Pot = $970.

BB checks, and I bet $800. He lets the timer go down to 1 and calls. Crap. I dont have enough behind now to get him to fold.

River = [Jd] [Jc] [4d] [5s] [9h] Pot = $2570

BB checks, I check behind in disgust. The pot comes my way. Huh? BB shows [8d] [2d].

Boy, did I read this guy wrong. But I'll take it!

Twelver... I apologize if you feel slighted... It was the *vomit* comment I was referring to...

I never played up to $3/6NL, having spent the most time at 1/2 and VERY occasionally 2/4, but I think at MY levels, it's pretty hard to push people off hands most of the time... And ESPECIALLY if they like their hand (ie... raised you on the flop, then called your reraise)... I'm not saying it was a good play by him, which it OBVIOUSLY wasn't...

Your story reminds me of a time when I did some consulting work for a mining company in Canada. They were looking for small zinc deposits and stumbled across what turned out to be the 5th largest deposit of nickel ever found. They made billions.

I don't think they were as lucky as you! :P
