Prelop
There is only one play to make and that is fold. KJo is a total junk hand. It's craptastic! You may want to use it in LP to steal blinds but at a full table this hand should be tossed into the muck at super sonic speed with no regrets. In early position it is simply unplayable.

Flop
You have Top Pair with the second best kicker which is a good hand heads up you don't want to give a free card so you should bet the pot since your hand is easily outdrawn, for example if an A or Q comes on the turn.

Turn
You got called on the flop but improved to trips on the turn whih is good ince you now beat QQ or a slowplayed AA/KK, which may have trouble folding. You should bet the pot since there is now a flush draw out. You decide to bet less than half the pot which is a mistake, it would be better to do if you had 99 or JJ here.

River
You must start to wonder what he is calling you down with. The only real options are an over-pair or a boat. If he's aggressive he'll probably bet his overpair if you check it to him (obviously he'll bet a lowplayed boat) so you should check, if he's passive he'll check bhind with an overpair so you should bet and fold to a raise.

Result
He's a muppet who called you down with an underpair and hit his two-outer on the river. That is a massive -EV move that will cost him huge in the long run, especially since he's stupid enough to just do a miniraise when he hits it. Obviously he should have pushed. You played the hand very poorly though which is what matters since you can't really do much to change how he plays his hands.

On a side note I see a lot of first posts that are essentially just bad beat stories where people are looking for sympathy, which is very unconstructive, I hope this wasn't ment as one even though it seems to fit the description.

Thanks guys,

So essentially folding avoids this whole mess! (sidenote, bet the pot!)

Ironically, I was playing only 1 table (something I seldom do) really trying to play a good game. When I multitable, I have no problem folding a lot more and restricting the action to quality hands....In short, I really have to take a hard look at my game from preflop to the river...
