Playing the SC...

Postby AlexMR » Mon Aug 22, 2005 9:19 am

Ok,

I have been playing them since i ve noticed they fold a little more in NL$50. I raise them in LP and I always make a continuation bet, I could say more than 95% of times.

My question is this: the flop gives you the draw (lets say the str8 draw) I bet, it could be 3/4pot it could be full pot it could be 2/3pot. I get two callers. the turn is a blank. What do yu do there?

Do you bet? I find myself betting that and I dont like it. I think I build a big pot to take it only 10-15 % of times. Am I wrong? That is the suggestion of Ciaffone (Pot-Limit and No-Limit Poker) specially if you have a big stack.

What is your post flop play with SC?

This is very read dependent. Who are the two callers in there with me? Do they play any ace any place and there is an ace on the flop? Are they calling stations or weak tighties?

General-- I probably check the turn.

If I'm in LP and there is a face card out there, I probably do not bet again as I'm probably not moving them off the pot; however, if I can reasonably put them on the same draw I'm on, then I might bet strong to drive them out (assuming not CSs). I don't want to hit my draw but be on the low end of it.

These are tough situations. More times than not, I'm probably checking since there are multiple players.
