1/2 NL hand

Postby Suhleafs » Sat Aug 20, 2005 9:17 pm

Went over this one with Ice. His comments were (read after the hand): There was almost no way I could fold that, even though I seriously contemplated it.

Stack sizes, me about 300, Villain about 250

Anyway, it's your typical live 1/2 hand, fast and loose. I limp in from the SB with [7d] [6d], the BB raises it up to $10. The button calls, and I called hoping to hit a big flip

Well bingo bango, the flop is [9h] [7c] [6s]

So I check, the bb bets 10, the button calls, and I raise to 60. The BB calls and the button folds.

Turn: [6h]

I check, and he checks.

River is a [Js]

I lead out and bet $50, he raises all in for a total of $150 so you would......?

Results: [color=white]Yes, he did have pocket jacks

There's absolutely no way I would consider folding, even if the raise had been twice as big. You simply HAVE to pay him off here.

Dont forget suhleafs, that I said to push the turn. It probably didnt matter this time because he probably calls, but I think you make alot more money that way.

Hes probably calling with JJ 75% of the time. You take his stack 95% of the time.
If you check the turn to him like you did, you not getting anything more out of him a large portion of the time. Half the deck is a scare card that makes a str8, flush or an overcard. Hes already afraid heis hands is not good when you check raise him. Any scare card and hes gone for sure.
