Bad Beats have gotten to me

Postby Cactus Jack » Fri Aug 19, 2005 11:19 am

Ok, so now I'm past frustrated. Hand converter doesn't work. I'm at the fishiest table I've ever seen, and there have been a lot lately. I'm already down a buyin with topping up. There's money being given away all over the place. I'm playing more loosely because they'll play anything. Then, this...

Party Poker (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with [7c], [Ac].
5 folds.

Flop: [7d], [7h], [4d] (5 players)
BB folds.

Turn: [As] (4 players)
MP3 folds, CO folds.

River: [4s] (2 players)

Final Pot:

Results in white below:
SB has 4c 4h (four of a kind, fours).
Hero has 7c Ac (full house, sevens full of aces).
Outcome:

I layed a perfect trap, and the guy walks into it. He hits a ONE OUTER! I think I should go back to fixed limit. You can have a bad run of luck and not get your brains beat out. This is ridiculous.

I just caught a set of Ks on the flop. Lost my stack to a guy who rivered a Q to get KKKQQ. (Didn't matter, as it would have been a split anyway, Ks and 2s.) I can't handle it anymore. Almost 10K hands and I'm below where I started. You guys have my complete admiration to be able to play this game. I guess I simply cannot. Funny thing is, I haven't tilted a single bit. If I'd had even reasonable luck, I'd been doing great. It's not so much the suckouts, it's the bad run of luck. You can't beat that, I think, no matter how well you play. Gotta get away from it, for at least awhile. It was a fun experiment, but you gotta know when to fold 'em.

This just sucks.

that really sucks.

First, when you use the coverter, try deleting "texas" and the space in the header of the hand history. It seems to work.

Second, fold preflop. even on a fishy table, I don't play that out of position because if you have a draw for it, it will be really tough oop.

CJ:

Just something to consider.

If you are playing well and getting your money in with the best of it, the luck will turn and you will make money.

If you are playing well against people who are bad ...
then over the long run, the only way NOT to make money at poker ...
is not to play.

The bad beats will cost you even MORE if you let them drive you away from the table.

Just a thought...
