To slowplay or not to slowplay on the flop?

Postby mecha » Mon Aug 15, 2005 12:19 am

Usually i don't slowplay on the flop. but the flop looked so weak i didn't want to scare away my opponent. villan is loose aggressive 35% vpip 11% pfr. and i know the turn miniraise wasn't smart on my end. my question is, how would you have played this hand? thx in advance.

Being extremely shortstacked like that I would have pushed all in after he bet the flop. Nothing he could have would have you beat at that point so get your money in there and make him make the decision. If he has anything he is most likely gonna put you all in anyway by the time the river comes so why let him see the turn and river cheap?

he was not shortstacked. hero has $240; villan has $273.

well more than 100x the big blind.

My mistake, I was looking at MP1's stack, not MP3's.

this is a nicely played hand, this is about as much money you can get from utg without knowing what he holds. he most likely thought your min-raise and bet on the turn and river were bluffs, im gonna guess he's holding kk or aa.
