JJ on all under flop!

Postby Zuccala » Sun Aug 14, 2005 2:07 pm

Hey Guys, Here's yet another question. I was lin LP and raises 2 EP limpers. The flop came 629 mixed suits. I bet the pot and and get check raised for the rest of my stack. Now I realze I am either up against a set or a bigger overpair (more likley). I call and see QQ and lose my stack. The pots odds after i was raised was about 10-1.....was this a bad call.

Now I know I am about 23-1 to hit my 2 outer. But the way this guy plays he coould also be doing this CR with AK or TT. Disucss!!!

I think I would normally fold queens here as well. even if he's a total nutcase I think I'll fold jacks here.

You get check-raised for the rest of your stack and you get 10:1 pot odds? Did he only have a couple of cents left after your pot bet? If this is correct then it's an easy call of course but to be honest your post is a bit confusing and doesn't give much information. Do you think you could structure and clarify it a bit?

I am sorry about the confusion. Those were not the odds I was getting. This hand was from a whil ago. I dont remeber the exact numbers. However the situation i describe is exactly what happened. But I did have only a very small amouint left. It may have been 9-1. Sorry

Well anytime you have such a big part of your stack in the pot you'll have to call even if you think you're beat. That's "being pot committed" and it sucks. Sounds like you were playing shortstacked?

The only way I'm calling this is if I put the guy on major tilt or he was some massive short stack looking to go all in with TPTK.

Its a fold 90% of the time for me.
