KK on the Flop

Villain is a LAG who I've seen play all types of crazy hands. His VPIP is 55% adn pfr 15%. His stack has fluctuated from up 4 buy ins down to 1/2 buyin and back up.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 6 handed)

Hero ($157.50)
Button ($19.10)
SB ($115.55)
BB ($29.25)
UTG ($50)
MP ($9.70)

Preflop: Hero is CO with [Kh], [Kc]. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
UTG calls $0.50, 1 fold, Hero raises to $2, 1 fold, SB (poster) calls $1.75, BB calls $1.50, UTG calls $1.50.

Flop: ($8) [5s], [Qs], [5h] (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $6, SB raises to $25, BB folds, UTG folds,

Hero????

I hate these situations because it is 25/25/25/25 whether or not he has a flush draw 77, Qs or the 5. I've noticed trends with poor overly aggressive players to wait to spring a monster, and that they are more likely to make this move with a pair that you beat or the Q. They go ape with a bad hand and try to trap with a good hand. If this guy is that kind of bad LAG, then you are stuck raising and sucking it up if he has it this time.

If he consistently pounds good and bad hands, his only mode is full throttle, then you are still stuck playing this out 50/50 of the time. I slow down a lot and try to keep this from becoming a stacked off hand. I call this guy more than raise.

If he is truly bad lag, I call and let him stack himself. I might possibly fold to a flush card :( but these guys when you have position will just keep pounding.

What impression of his play did you have?

i would put him on the Q with a decent kicker. i generally check-raise in situations when i dont want to play the hand through to the river....like a Q on that board when there's a flush draw out. if i had the 5 and someone was betting into me....i'd probably wait until the turn to raise.

though...this player seems insane so he could really have anything. against a 55/15 maniac...you just have to sometimes grit your teeth and go for it.

He is definitely a BAD lag (and thus harder to read).

Normally I reraise big here. However, now I'm basically playing for all his stack and I still don't know where I am in the hand if he calls.

I regretted it later, but I just called. Turn was check/check. River was a Q which screwed me. I folded to his raise.

Good idea on more pfr.
