I found that even limping in from EP was costing me money, unless you know the people behind you are pretty passive and will let you limp. I never hit with them enough to see any profit from EP.

I make a good amount on raising sc in late position. If I miss, I was the original raiser so of course I'm betting 8-) regardless of the flop. If you get called im usually done. Yet any piece of the flop im prepared to fight tooth and nail if I think they are drawing. ex.

78s I raise. 2 callers.

say flop of like 8 Q 3 with 2 of any suit and its checked to me. Of course I'm betting, If I get called I then go to reads. Obviously your biggest strength here is your position.

In EP say I limp with 9Ts
and the flop comes 9 2 7, even if I have the best hand right now say I lead. Everyone and their brother calls. Regardless of the next card, I'm not real comfortable with my hand. If you plan on limping with sc in early position and have a "set it and forget it' policy. That has to be -EV.

Btw my table image is real tight/real aggressive. So raising in late position benefits me cause I feel real comfortable raising QJs/78s/56s etc etc when its folded to me in the cutoff. If people have me on TAA, who knows I'm not raising AK or any other prime hands?

btw add 23s and 34s into the arcesnal in LP. These are the sleeper SCs. I have hit real big draws/hands vs Overpairs and nothing steams people like 23s busting KK. Plus with their overpair they thank the lord all rags fell; but those rags = your riches.

Yet SC really go along with your playing style; if your a more passive player I don't see them being extremely profitable considering your really gonna have to nail a flop. If your a real maniac you can run yourself into trouble with them overplaying hands etc. From your last few posts you don't seem to be a maniac. It looks like you try to trap or play hands rather slowly. SCs are meant to be played real fast something you might be a little uncomfortable with. It's all about picking your spots and knowing your opponent.

Sorry for the long post. Hope this is helpful; Probably garbage anyways, I should reread. bah I have to work soon
