Firing on Every Street--My BTP Lesson

Postby T-Rod » Fri Aug 12, 2005 3:18 pm

Before I came to BTP, I used to fire on every street. I pushed a lot of people off pots, and I'd also go bust when I ran into a set or something like that.

Now I check the turn a lot--a lesson I learned here. Pot Control.

More importantly, I've learned how to defeat the guy who fires on every street (they used to befuddle me to no end). When up against Super-LAG, I REGULARLY check the turn. They cannot help but bet, sensing weakness. You can then CR or wait and pounce on them on the river. Now they have to do a 180 to save themselves (very tough).

Thoughts?

trodgers,

When I bet the flop and then check the turn that could be a monster or weakness  . Tihis has proven very effective to make huuge pots when I have a monster. For most players this is pure weakness and when you make a big bet on the river they can NEED to see what you have.
