I guess this is a pretty clear fold?

FullTiltPoker Game #182781077: Table Broadbent - $1/$2 - No Limit Hold'em - 16:03:39 ET - 2005/08/12

Seat 1: GMoney2001 ($293.95)
Seat 2: Tiggz ($220.10)
Seat 4: Steve565 ($185.70)
Seat 5: AlamedaMike ($276.50)
Seat 6: DaBigMan68 ($110.75)
Seat 7: pokerdave47 ($341.10)
Seat 8: Glasgow Boy ($95.30)
Seat 9: mpf8888 ($239.50)

Steve565 posts the small blind of $1
AlamedaMike posts the big blind of $2
The button is in seat #2

*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to AlamedaMike [9s] [Qs]
DaBigMan68 folds
pokerdave47 calls $2
Glasgow Boy raises to $6
Tiggz calls $6
Steve565 folds
AlamedaMike calls $4
pokerdave47 calls $4

*** FLOP *** [9d] [4c] [9h]

AlamedaMike bets $25
pokerdave47 folds
Glasgow Boy folds
Tiggz raises to $214.10, and is all in

AlamedaMike has 15 seconds left to act - damn not much time.

What to do?

I left the table and dropped down to the $0.50 bb tables until I learn how to play NL.

Well I think this is a fold. He either has a 9 with a better kicker. Or I think a possible pair of 4's for the boat.

Better question... why are you calling a x3BB pfr with Q9s in the worst position at the table? I wouldn't do that at one of my hyper-loose 6-max tables.

Okay, the way you played it. You BTP on the flop, the guy completely disregards that strength and pushed immediately with no draws out there. That's pretty strong. I'm guessing he had 44 since he just called the pfr. FOLD is probably the play unless I had some read on him that he liked to go allin a lot or is real LAGGY.

Well,

I should not be calling a raise in the BB with any hand except AA, KK or maybe QQ.

His raise could have meant some big hand like AA or KK not believing that I had a 9 in my hand.

I flopped trips with 52

http://livepokerforum.com/forum/viewtop ... 8501#38501

and the player on the BTN had AA.

So on the trip 5 hand I should have bet the pot size and folded to his all-in re-raise which I am sure was coming?

I guess the best policy is to err on the safe side and fold'em. It seems that I get myself in trouble at least once a day.

Would he reaise on the BTN with a hand like 44 or A9? I guess so.

I don't have a problem with your call pre-flop.

From your history, the guy with 44 didn't raise, he called.

Good laydown.
