A Losing streak: is it time to move back to NL$25 already?

OK. I am in an awful run. It s a mix of huge amount of bad cards and terrible bad beats.

I have lost three buy ins today on my only three flopped sets. In Two of them I put villain all in on the flop, just to see how they rivered/turned their over sets and another one had a lower set with a runner runner str8 draw, that he hit.

Here are my stats for the days.

Hands: 1740.
VP$IP: 13.8% (my usual game is +-18%, I am getting no hands)
WtSD: 14.8% (my number is 23%)
W$WSF: 24%
W$SD: 26.27%
Amount lost: $310.

I decided to leave party inmediatly after I finished clearing my bonus and lost 90 there. Strted playing at Absolute after that and felt the losing streak was inminent after a couple hundred hands. I decided to check out UB to feel the waters and because they have a very good rakebackd deal. I have lost at this time 200there and it seems that itt snot going to stop. Right now as I write this, I got JJ and flopped the set. Got my chips in against a flopped 555 and the turn gave him quads... SIGHS.

I am definetely moving back to NL$25 or I will end up broke!! i dont think I am playing badly at all, BTW.

Hi Alex, I've just been sitting at a couple of $50 tables with you. There were a lot of muppets out there tonight, I only stayed on for an hour because the play was just terrible and suckouts everywhere.
All I can say is hang in there bud, I suffered a similar downswing at the end of July dropping $150 in a few days at the $25 tables. I went up to $50NL at the beginning of the month and promptly dropped $120 in my first session but hung in there because I'd built the bankroll to do it (thats the proviso....having the bankroll to stay around at the higher level).
The cards and boards will turn around, guaranteed

I had a horrible day of playing the current nuts fast yesterday. 10:1 or better favorites were getting spanked. I have no intention of stepping down in stakes.

The main reason for this is that I have enough bankroll to overcome short term variance. I'm psychological sound putting all the money in with the best of it and if it comes up short, I did my job. This holds especially true in far from marginal situations where I'm a 4:1 or greater favorite. What more can you ask for? Well dragging a pot would be nice.

If mentally you are feeling whipped go ahead and step down for a few days. I float between limits frequently, I'm playing anywhere between $50 to $200 games right now. I don't mind stepping down for a day, especially if I need to get discipline problems out of my system, or I'm suffering horrible beat after beat. The cards will thaw out, and if it is me I can make adjustments.

Tough beats are a part of the game, we take them and sometimes we give them, if you are playing right you get them more than take them.

Step down.... I have and will always do so. After more than growing my BR 6x I got spanked down to where it was only double what I started. I replayed the lower limits and when I moved up I played 1 table..... then 2 tables.... where as in the lower limits I played 4 at a time. Remember your there to make money not to give it away... rebuild, regroup and re attack the bigger limits.
I did say no to drugs..... They just didn't listen

I have been playing for 2 hours at NL$25 and have made 145!! I just hate this crazy variance!

I am playing TAG or very much extreme str8 ABC poker. I think I shouldnt be having these crazy swings but its ok as long as I get the crazy upswings so fast...

Just had my 3rd. set over set of the day!.... glad it was on NL$25 and against a caling station. I was very afraid of it given he was a major calling station showing a lot of aggression. I short stack went in PF for 4, he flat call and I call. He flopped his A and made a set and I flopped a 2 for the bottom set. The rest is history.
