Poker Room $1 BB. I'm a couple orbits in, no real read on anyone.

I'm in the BB with .

One EP limper, MP raises to $3, folds to me, I call and so does EP.

Flop .

I check, EP checks, MP bets $2.
I call and EP folds.

Turn .

I check, MP bets $4, I make it $12, MP makes it $20, I push for $60 more.
MP calls.

Turn is a blank and MP has....?

So my questions: any other paths for the flop and turn?
Do people like to lead out at the flop or check-raise?
(I usually check-raise when the pre-flop raiser is behind me. I don't know why I didn't this time.)
Do you push with this holding?

Personally, I like to lead into the raiser with a set hoping they think they have to raise to protect their hands so that they can be committed on the turn. Depending on my read, I would then push the flop or wait til the turn.

I would think that you would win this unless you ran into KK or 77. If you did, I would get stacked here too. This is what you want as you hope the guy has AK and you have him drawing to runner runner on the flop on a hand that bad players can't get away from.

In my mind on the flop I was for the most part only thinking about how to get their chips into the centre. I'll have to think more about leading out on the flop in these cases.

It turns out he had KK.
I was a bit dumbstruck, but these things happen.

The $2 bet into a $9 pot on the flop after a preflop raise is unpleasant. It either shows huge weakness or huge strength pretending to be weakness. I checkraise big on the flop to find out which. If he comes back over the top I call, and then if he pushes the turn I *might* be able to lay this down. But probably not even then.

Like others, I'm probably check raising on the flop looking to get him more pot comitted for the turn push all in.

However, the way you played it, I don't think I would have pushed on the turn? Why, because I put him on a set and every possible set beats you. Would he have raised preflop with K5 or K7 or K3? No. So he's probably got a set or maybe AK. You're behind 3 of the 4 most logical hands (set of Ks, set of 7s, set of 5s, or AK). That being said, would I fold? Probably not either. I check/call and hope for a cheaper showdown against a very misplayed AK
