Muppet said sorry

Postby AlamedaMike » Thu Aug 11, 2005 4:13 pm

I was playing on full tilt and the only problem that I have so far is that the hand converter does not support full tilt and Poker Tracker does not as well.

Basicly, I had JJ in the SB and raised the BB who re-raised. I went all in thinking that my Jacks were best. They were preflop.

She snagged an Ace with ATo. The muppet called my all in with ATo.

About 3 hands later I flopped the nut flush and she gave me all my money back plus some more.

Got to love it.

Question - All-in with the Jacks or just call and fold to the Ace high board?

Thanks

The poker gods punished me for calling her a Muppet. I flopped a set of 4's to lose to a flopped set of 9's.

Mike,

Full Tilt IS supported by the newest version of Full tilt. Go to portracker.com and download it!.

Not much to say about your hand.

Thanks, what I really wanted to know is what you told me.

The site does not list FullTilt

i'm not a big fan of pushing JJ pf in cash games...ever...you're only going to get called by bigger hands. but in this spot, you're kind of short, so i don't mind the push as much if you think you have the best hand.

personally, i would've slowed down a lot after getting reraised. :(

I hear you layneqt, but here it is the big blind and it is a random hand. A re-raise from EP and I am slowing down big time.

I have no idea why she though that ATo was a re-raising hand. Heck, in her position I would have called to see the flop. Then worry about my kicker.

But, what do I know. I am barely winning at this game.

Most books recommend that you fold ATo to a raise.

you're thinking about it from a tourney perspective...in a tourney w/ sizable blinds, you defend your blind: you raise w/ JJ. he knows you're not necessarily that strong, so he reraises you with AT. but you know he knows so you push. but he knows you know he knows, so he decides to gamble w/ AT in case you got 99 or 72 or something.

but this is a cash game, and you don't have to defend your blinds, and i think most ppl realize this. therefore, the theoretical strength of bb's hand is still very high. and when you go all-in it's $40 to him to win $60. he's not going to (er, shouldn't) ever call that w/out, idk, at least AK. but again, you're short and out of position, so i think going all-in w/ JJ here is ok. and you should be real happy he called w/ AT, it completely justifies your play!
