1/2 NL Prima

My opponent and I both have about $400. I've been very aggressive, winning lots of small pots. Opponent is a good player..no glaring read.

Dealt [7s][6s] in the CO. Two limpers to me. I call. Button calls. blinds stay in

FLOP $11
[Th][5s][4c]

Openeded straight draw. UTG+2 bets $10. I raise to $30. Everyone folds back to him. He thinks a little bit and calls.

TURN $71
[Th][5s][4c][2s]

Now I have a flush draw along with straight draw. I wasn't sure if I was gonna fire again but this card was too great looking.

He checks, I bet $50. He folds after a long time thinking about it. Don't think he wanted to risk that $400 stack :)

Thoughts??

You know, this is exactly how i started playing at party after i deposited about 2 days ago, the 200nl crowd is very much weak and tight (how i used to play). Plus about what you said on the other thread, nobody cares about the aggressor stealing every other pot, they just sit back and play their hands. With that said, after about 3 hrs into playing at a table i felt my bets were starting to get called more and raised more... but it did take them a while. Then i just changed tables. But loosening up and being aggressive like this is key to middle stakes NL i think...

On this hand i would fire again on the river if opponent checked to me.

good bet, power poker at its finest... its a good bet in that he has to have a monster to call you there. you showed strength on the flop and followed through on the trun, checking that turn card would have been a disasterous play after raising the flop. your bet was a good amount ($50), and if you get called you can play the river in position and maybe steal the pot then. and if he folds, which he did, you win with the worst, but its a great example of the power of suited connectors if played well and properly

power play at it's finest... i like that :)

Can't underestimate position either. Position gave me the power to make this kind of muscle move.

POSITION--- I totally agree Kenny.

Question--your 50 bet on the turn into a 70 pot. Are you trying to make it look like a value bet (not too big, not too small?)

Trodgers...that's about the size I always make my turn bet. Unless it's a crazy situation..I almost never bet full pot on the turn. usually 3/4s or 2/3s.
