Need Help w/Position Analysis

Postby LottaFagina » Wed Aug 10, 2005 1:26 pm

I've dabbled on a couple of occasions into NL50 (mostly Party skins), but 90% of my play is on NL25.

I'm looking at this and not sure what to make of it. Looks like I've covered about half my BBs back in winnings and all but a nickel of my SB posts. Is that right?

My Vol Put $ in From SB used to be in the mid 40's%, but I've dropped it over the past month or so to 37 and continue to tighten up in the SB.

How am I doing? Any other positional sugggestions/constructive criticism?

I'm Mr. 6-max so I'm probably not a good person to give advice on positions as mine are all different.

Good job on winning some of BB back.

Something that jumps out at me is your relatively low winnings on the button. I know my button winnings are signficantly higher? It also looks like you raise pf less on the button. I'd be raising more. Much more than any other position.

It looks a bit weird. You're pretty much playing the same amount if hands from all positions, which is a bit odd. With such a low vpip I guess you're pretty much only playing pairs, Aces and KQ hands. To compare with my own I go from ~12 utg to ~28 otb. You could probably loosen up a lot in late position in unraised pots.

You raise more from UTG than from the button, which seems wrong. Once again I compare with my own numbers and find that while I raise only a bit more than 2% of my hands UTG, I pump up almost 9% of my hands OTB.

My recommendation would be to play a few more speculative hands from late position, such as suited connectors, and raise more when in late position if the pot is unraised (always open-raise, never open-limp in LP). You might also want to cut down on raising UTG, at least if you're raising hands like AQ and AJ, which your stats indicate.

i dont understand the total hands for each position, can someone explain to me?

how come there are different numbers for the total hands for each position, shouldn't they be the same? i mean, when you play in a ring game, you get the same amount of hands per round, 1 hand per position per round, right?

If youre playing alot of 7-8 handed games, then there wont be a position 6 and 7 in all those hands which is why the hand totals are so low for those positions.
