As time goes on and on and this sort of nonsense racks up, I am left more and more open-mouthed at the absurdity of the situation on bloody party and empire! Surely these websites can't be kosher, can they???? Garbage just doesnt seem to happen ANYWHERE else with remotely the same frequency. On a sidenote, i've also had AA and KK an absurd number of times lately (about 15 times in the last 800 hands or so, tho i agree that's easily put down to short-term variance).

Just ranting I guess, but after losing my shirt in basically every game on these piece of poo sites, I am just, yet again, sick to the back teeth of it! Having moved to 25NL for a bit of a break, i won well for a while, but it seems empire is back to it's old tricks in the last week or so. incidentally I've won about $300 at stars in the last couple of days. here's a couple of incredulous moans from the last few hours...

Dealt AA in EP. One goon is moaning about how bad his luck has been, and true enough he's been rivered brutally about 3 times and lost some horrors lately. So he's on tilt.

Cut a long story short, he goes for the "if you cant beat them, join them" idea. He calls my raise with 87o, catches a mighty bottom pair and ignorant end straight draw, calls a pot sized raise on the flop, another on the turn and catches his ten on the river to make the lowest possible str8 and win the $60 pot. Absolutely pure party; the guy is getting his ass handed to him by beat after beat and as soon as he tilts and flings some poo he connects with a river...

Then this wonderful escapade from about ten minutes ago... at this point i'm up on a couple of tables. Yeah, i realise there's a fair few outs for my two opponents here, but really, could they have played this any WORSE???? I can't see how either player can possibly play it like this. The SB was a goon but the dink with 88 actually had a low VPIP and was down as a good player in my notes. Oh, of course the idiot spanks his 2 outer on the river. F'ing great.

Heh, I WAS going to post a similar thing yesterday. The variance is greater because of the seemingly audacious beats that happen... regularly It gets one down.!

I sympathise with you mate, I really do.

Trouble is, I think the way maniac rubbish players who call down 3rd pair against you, who eventually go all-in (which of course they also call, because they riviered a set) negatively affects ones' play.

After last night's session of beats, I was pretty cross, so I looked at every hand where I lost more than $10 in PT.

After review, I found that

I lost $105 through being rivered or AA losing vs J5o and other rubbish.

I lost $107 unavoidably because of overpairs vs better hands, which are amazingly hard to play with PP's blind structure (if someone just calls you down and you keep betting the pot, you are most certainly all in for a buyin).

I lost $199 'avoidably', i.e. by ignoring signals like being check-raised, callers turned bettors, paying off straights and flushes etc (mind you it seems that EVERY time there is a flush draw, someone in the hand is drawing to it!).

After looking at these stats, I am a bit happier that my win rate can improve. I just have to be a bit more respectful of the muppets when they do catch a hand... :D

I love the folks who play tournament style and go all-in with 22 preflop, but I just cannot call them unless I have AA or KK. Some lucky and 'courageous' dude with K7o calls of course and wins! Madness...

Seriously, I know how you feel. I was there yesterday. Deal yourself out for a bit, take some deep breaths, walk around and shake the tension and frustration out by rolling your shoulders, flapping your arms etc. Think nice things.

Do NOT go on tilt. :D You'll hate yourself in the morning.

Lol I didn't go on tilt, I continued to play pretty well. I really reckon I played a very solid session of poker. Only 50 bucks or so down, nothing really, but it's just frustrating to lose in such unconventional and garbagey manners. Anyways, I'll go and play some SnGs at stars I guess, where i actually win money, rather than haemorrhaging it to goons with a 45% VPIP.
