I started the day this morning with the one of the coldest decks Ive ever seen. I went 1 hour and 14 minutes on one table before I won my 1st hand. I swear to you that I didnt not play 1 single hand outside the blinds in that entire time on that table. I just blinded away about $100. The first hand I played, I bet the flop and got raised and had tofold. Very frustrating. But you know what? I left that table in the black about 20 mins later which should be a lesson to anyone who plays less than playable hands when they run cold. That will just make it worse.
I ended the morning up around $400. I started playing in the evening and was up another $600 when I lost a stack to a 2+2er (who doesnt know who I am). Lets just say that I'll be taking alot of his money in the long run after seeing how he plays. I was back to even and pissed after having a horrible day yesterday. This table was very LAGgy with huge pots and big bluffs everywhere. I hung around and got my $1000 back in 3 or 4 medium sized pots. the river check raise works wonders on a LAG. i think Ive checked raised the river about 3 times in the last year until tonight. That might be an exxageration, but it is my new found weapon for the $5/$10 tables. These guys love to steal the pot from you if you check to them on the river.
Example:
#1) I have 97 in the BB. LAG limps in MP. SB complete. Hes a HUGE LAG and the 2 LAGS have been going at it for an hour.
Pot is $30 and the flop comes
[9c][7c]. Checked around. So much for the LAG play.
Pot still $30. The turn is the
. I bet $25 and MP calls.
Pot is $80. the river is the
. Normally I would bet here every time, but this time I check. He bets $75 and I check raise to $300. He calls with QJ. OK, so hes a bad LAG.
#2) I have
[8c] in the SB. MP limps, I complete and BB checks.
Pot is $30. Flop comes
[Kc][4h]. I check, BB checks, MP bets $20. I call and were heads up.
Pot is $70. The turn is the
. I check, he checks.
Pot $70. River is a brick. I check the flush to him again and he bets $50. I check raise to $150 and he calls with
[Jh] . I would never check that flush to him twice in a smaller game.
I also flopped a straight in the BB against a different LAG. The flop went check/check/ I bet the turn and he called. I checked the river and he couldnt help himself and bet. Thank you Mr LAG...check raise coming right up!
That stack I lost to the 2+2er is still pissing me off as I write this post. I did not tilt while playing though. My play was good, his sucked, he got lucky, nothing I can do.
Todays results..........................2.75 hours........+$980.15
Approx playing time..................22 hours
Total Profit.................................$2010.35
Hourly rate................................$91.40
Current share value..................$600.52
Current win rate........................5.1 BB / 100 hands
At this point Im 90% confident that I can beat these stakes long term. Ive lost set over set for a stack, the lost stack today that is too horrific to post and 3 AA vs KKs that I lost all 3 of. Give me any of those hand back or let me win 2 out of 3 of the AA vs KKs....and Im well over my win rate goal. The project is a success so far in my opinion although I want to get my win rate up some more ovbiously.

[Ah] with a flop of
[9h][4h] and a huge pot developing where I think the other guy may have a set but I have an overpair and nut flush draw...dont happen that often.
[Kh] with an all
flop and the other guy had a set. I also had another of the same type hands where I had AA as an overpair and nut flush draw on a monotone flop. The guy had a set that time also.
