As a recent convert to the scientology-like cult of PT users, can someone please explain the differnece between PT BBs and True BBs - I remember reading it on this forum in the past...

To make a long story short......when PT says you win rate in NL is 5BBs, its actually 10BBs.

It has to do with the fact that PT was programmed for limit poker and the fact that in a $5/$10 limit game, the BB is actually only $5, not $10. In a $5/$10 NL game, the BB is actually $10.

Thanks Ice - so my PT bb/100 rate of 10.47 is really just shy of 21 true bb/100? Thats good news. Initially I was pretty dismayed by the first 5K hands I loaded into that monster. Friggin PT man...I think it took me less time to learn my trading system at work...

Initial uses have been focused primarily on identifying my own leaks (-3bb/100 on "junk hands") in the first 2k hands (its just shy of flat now - thanks to PT)...and a nice byproduct of that is that I have found that PT is making me so much more accountable for my play. Its all there in black and white - the numbers are what they are. It really is just a great great thing for players that take the game seriously and are looking for ways to improve.

Can anyone suggest more applications of PT for someone who is just starting out as a user?
