Do you play more than 4 tables?

Postby Yogadude » Sun Jul 31, 2005 4:43 pm

Hey friends. Well, I've made a complete turn-around and went from playing only 1 table to working my way up to 4 tables at a time. It is clear that you dont really get better at "playing" poker while playing 4 tables but the money is too good to ignore. I know I have read that some players 8-table online and I was hoping to hear from anyone who plays that many tables successfully and what the transition to that many tables was like. I think I could pull it off but am not really sure. Some recomendations on playing this many tables would be great. I'm concerned that it just may be too fast.

Also, not that many remember or really give a crap, a while back we debated over putting in 3 buy-ins in the pot with KK if your opponent turned over AK and let you decide. I was against it because I didnt like the idea of losing a nice score 30% of the time but 50,000 online hands later I changed my mind. That is too much value to give up. I was wrong, you were right.

thanks poker friends

I can pull off 5 tables but Im sure it hurts my win rate some due to so much going on.
If u play really tight(maybe VPIP of less than 16%) I think more tables is better as u don't get bored and start playing junk. On the other hand I've noticed the more tables I play, I'm more likely to get in a hurry, make to small of a bet, and give a guy the odds to call(not good!)

I've worked my way up to 4 tables and I feel I have a decent control over it, thanks to PT. More tables would be an option if my monitor allowed it, but I'm on a 17" screen and the damn tables are overlapping eachother like crazy already.

stoneburg, u can get 4 Prima mini views to fit perfectly on a 17" monitor if u change ur screen resolution. I also have dual monitors so I can pull up PT on the other one.

Yeah know the first thing I did after posting my reply here was to check how the mini size looks... I'm thinking that GT+ won't be compatible though.

Mini size, Stone? What site is that? Party?

I couldnt handle more than two or three tables but Now I am playing 4. It gets crazy sometimes but I am doing quite well. Of course your game quality have to suffer (because u cant really pay much attention to how people play but after one hour at the table you know every1) but you can do nicely with 4.

Thanks for all the replies. Looks like I'll stick with 4 tables and work on stepping up in limits instead of adding more tables.

I know Aperfect10 use to play 8 tables on party.

He did really well! I'm not sure I could handle it. I'd play a lot tighter thought..that's for sure.

ive been playing 4 tables for a while, but im thinking about moving down to 3 because a lot of times, when those big hands come, i forget i even have other tables and some how ignore the sounds and pop-ups of the other tables.
