I thought this guy had a weak ace, maybe suited from the flop action, but obviously he's telling me he's got 2 pair or better on the turn (and QJ and TT crossed my mind too) when I try to bet him off it. I should've tried to find that out for cheaper, right? Two-thirds of the pot would've done?

Anyway, when he raises, the pot odds are only literally a few cents away from being correct for me to pursue my flush draw now, so I must at least call.

What do you think of my setting him all-in for those few extra $$? I thought to myself "I'm either going to have to fold for a tiny amount if I don't hit (he's bound to bet it) and look stupidly weak considering the size of the pot, or I can push the rest in now and look like a gambler".

well you can't fold on the river so there is no problem with putting his money in on the turn. I am really tight with "weak" aces and often fold that preflop. With how coordinated that flop is, I don't really like my hand that much so I check the turn hoping to draw cheaply thinking I'm behind at least 2 pair like AT or KT.

Nothing that you can beat will minraise a full pot bet on the turn. Fold it.

Some people minraise with position to try to see a free card, but that doesn't apply on the turn (of course).

calling the flop (with position) and then raising the turn (when you've bet both times) is as sure a sign of a monster (or at least a hand that beats 1 pair) as you are ever going to get.

The way you played it I check the turn. Out of position, I'm not leading on THAT coordinated of a board.

I would have bet 3 on the flop though. Makes it a little easier to to fold later.

Also, when I see a board like this, I immediately start preparing myself for the fact I am probably going to fold later. Why? Because its so coordinated that you will almost always have callers (even without the proper odds) gunning for the flush or the str8. Thus, I'm winning a small pot or losing a large one. I hate this type of hand and I don't push or lead with it. I look to make my $ elsewhere.

I am having a lot of fun raising it up a lot more often, since I got called supertight after posting my VP$IP/PFR%. I'm now at 8% PFR and 16% VP$IP, and feeling a lot more confident and much less defensive
