limping w/ AQ

Postby laynegt » Mon Aug 01, 2005 12:57 pm

$25 UB

i have [As][Qd] in 5th position or so. solid player limps utg. i limp, player behind me limps. button raises to .75. he's done this a few times now. blinds come, and we all call.

Flop ($6.00): [Ac][2h][2d]
checked to me, i bet like $5. I am happy w/ this flop, but would definitely like to take it down here. however, mp behind me calls. he has $30+ left, I have a shade over $20. everyone else folds.

here I am quite happy it got heads up. i like my hand...but it looks like i could be playing a big pot out of position and i'm not sure how i feel about that.

Turn ($16): [8c]
or some kind of club rag. i think for a moment on what to do...

i check b/c i'm a wuss and i feel like there's more value in letting him bet. he fires $10 quickly. i think for awhile and decide he can't have a 2, my AQ is disguised, and my check looked weak. so i call. i'm not quite sure why i didn't just shove the rest in, but anyway.

River ($36): [Jh]
baddddddd card. i check, he puts me all-in for my last $10, i call.

Comments?

Results:

I like betting 10 or on the turn and folding if he goes ape and you believe him. As it played out I call off my last 10 too.

I definately make the call on the river as well. I probably would have bet the turn As it is I think you played it fine.
