400NL - overpair on paired board and action

Party 400NL

Do you call this....? (x2)

Hero has been playing loose-ish at 25/8. UTG ($430, 25/8/5, hero covers) limps utg. Hero raises to $15 with [Qc][Qd] and only UTG calls.

Flop [4h][4c][7d], $36 pot. UTG leads for $30 (he has been leading against PFR some portion of the time, generally taking it down ... the one time he was reraised he folded. In general UTG seems more aggressive on the flop than on the turn). Hero thinks for a while, then raises to $60, and UTG instantly reraises to $150. Hero thinks a bit and ...?

Actually, hero calls.

Turn [7s], $336. UTG quickly moves in for $280. Hero...?

Out of interest, if you fold, would you call either with KK/AA? If you call, would you call with JJ?

I dont know if I am weaker now, but I would fold that and dont think I would call even with AA. The chances of you beating him may be high with that turn becase I seriously doubt that anyone with 77 or 44 is moving in like that, except if he has solids reads of you and they say you cant lay down overpairs. I am folding a lot now. My aggression numbers are soooo high because of that and my win rate is up to 16PTBB/100 in my last 6K hands which have been played in only 4 days.

I am playing with a notebook by my side to take notes of all outdrawns and all the bad calls I make that cost me money, and that has been helping a lot and is the cause of me folding much more than before. I use to go to the SD about 30% of times and now I am there at only 22%. I dont know in higher limits but in NL$25 is not necessary to outplay every1 in everysingle hand to make a very high profit. I am playing according to that thesis and I am not getting into such hard hands. Maybe you DO need to do so to show a profit in NL400, but it should be interesting trying to prove otherwise.

Down here at NL$25, I would fold. AA would be hard to let go because I simply dont think he is on 44 or 77 as I said.

I was at the table... (folded 73o btw). And yes I fold. I would have folded on flop (I wouldnt have minimumraised in the first place, probably called, no draws). As UTG played it, it looks like he has a 4 or AA.

Also it's unlikely to be a bluff since hero has shown earlier that he is willing to call down without a very strong hand.

I would have folded to the flop re-raise, but I am not a big fan of the minraise. I think I would have smooth called on the flop.

Unfortunately, if you call the flop, you have to call the turn as you already decided he has 99 and thinks you are making a play with AK...

I don't think given the knowledge here that I can call the reraise of the flop with QQ and would have to hold information to call with KK/AA. Of course calling will give you this special information :) Then again, I'm slowing down on overpairs and looking for reasons to fold those moneysuckers in situations like this.

There are people that I would consistently call with JJ/TT here but they are few and far between. I don't know if your guy fits that category, but my special friends will show me 55 or 99 here more than they will show me a 7 or 4.
