Been playing 6 years now - this was my first. :) Should I have played it differently?

Party Poker

Preflop: Hero is UTG with [Jc], [Qc].
2 folds, Hero limps, MP1 limps, MP2 limps, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: [Tc], [Ac], [Kc] (5 players) Pot = $97
SB checks, BB bets $97, Hero calls, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, SB folds.

Turn: [5s] (2 players) Pot = $291
BB checks, Hero checks.

River: [Qh] (2 players)
BB bets $125, Hero raises to $400, BB calls.

Final Pot: $1091

Results in white below:
BB has 5c 3c (flush, ace high).
Hero has Jc Qc (royal flush).
Outcome: Hero wins $1091

WOW!.. I hate the BBs turn check! Thats really bad.

If I was you, I think I wouldve made a small turn bet. One small enough that he cant fold unless he has absolutely nothing which is doubtful since he bet the pot in that flop. With a small bet like that, theres a good chance he'll raise you thinking your weak. Since he had a flush, he very well probably wouldve raised you.

Your river raise is very nice I think.

Ive played about 3 years and had 2 royal flushes. They came on back to back days.

very nice man, congrats. closest I've ever come was a straight flush, though it was in the same sitting I had 4 of a kind, both off the flop... that was a fun day ;)

I often fold QJs in ep preflop so I don't think that is so out of the question although I would hurt something when I saw the flop.

Wow NH.

Speaking of this sort of thing happening at the same time, hear this. I've been playing online for a few months now, maybe 20k hands or so, i've had 1 royal flush ever and it came about 5 minutes after i got a straight flush, and 5 minuts before i hit 4 aces (on different tables) but WOW was that a night to remember lol.
