I just hate everything about the way I played this hand.

What should I have done on the flop? Mucked or raised?

Yikes. You really did play this pretty badly

Preflop you need to decide whether you're pair is good or you're drawing. Unless Villain is very LAG, you're drawing. On the flop you should probably either lead out or check-raise if you want to find out where you're at. Check calling is out of the question in my opinion. I'd either check/raise or check/fold.

On the turn.. well had you check/raised the flop you would be done with the hand by now. As is, I guess his bet is a bit weak and I can see why you want to check/raise here, but when you get called you really, really need to dump this hand.

The all-in on the river is crazy. You're beaten here 99.99% of the time and there is no way he'll fold. Even if he had an INSANELY over-played AK the bet is totally wrong since he won't call, he'll only call when you're beat... which you are. :(

I think the hand went wrong on the flop after he bet... if you had folded or raised there you would have saved an awful lot of money. Did you have a read on this guy as a maniac?

No, I don't think I did. I think I just went crazy!

Some of these hands I played are so awful it's actually taken me a bit of courage to post them! Lol, I think I probably need the humiliation to get me back on track..

Thanks for your comments! :)

Before you make any bet, you should always be thinking about what your opponent has because that always determines like your next move.

I totally agree. I am a muppet sometimes.

Seriously, I do think I posted this hand in order to shame myself publicly.. Must be the masochist in me. Still, I need the punishment, obviously, as I will be extra-sure not to be so brainless in this situation again.
