What is your play w/ this set?

Postby 80Proof » Thu Jul 28, 2005 6:48 pm

What is your play here? Sorry, I cant get the bison converter to work (again) any suggestions on that too??

Party Poker (9 handed) $50 NL

Preflop: 80 is UTG+1 with :9h, :9s ($48.00).
My EP raises have been getting a lot of respect here so I raise this one up ($2) hoping it will fold around. Thoughts on this? 6 folds.

Damn, I got called by a Late position LAG in the CO ($43.85) and the SB ($49.25, his second hand at this table, no read at all). Pot is $6.50.

Flop: :7c, :9c, :Ts (3 players) SB checks, 80 bets $6, CO calls $6, SB raises to $15. Um, ok...check raised me? Flush draw? Straight, straight draw? Over Pair? 80 pushes All-In ($46) Thoughts on this move?? Do you raise back here, call and check out the turn card, fold, push, what?, CO folds, SB calls All-in.

Turn: : Qd (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: :4h (2 players, 1 all-in)

Results: to follow.

Thanks,
80

I push. He has to have 86, J8 or TT to be beating you. You could get unlucky with TT but even if he is a muppet with the straight, you have outs and he might have ATc.

If you lost, it seems a lot of pople are having sets cracked lately.

I also think the push is a good idea. He could just as easily be betting like this on two pair. Pushing is +EV.
