On the advice of Kenny, I decided to move up to 100 so here's one of my first big hands there. 100NL on Party.

Villain has about $60, I have full stack.

I have A6s OTB and there are 2 limpers so I limp. both blinds come, Villian is in BB.

Flop comes T82, with 2 of my suit. BB bets out $3.5 folds to me and I raise to $10. Villian raises to $25. What do you do? This guy is loose (40% or so) not really aggressive but 1.11 aggro.

i think i'd push here. If you call and stay in the hand you will prob. be playing for your stack after the turn. I think he is scared of the flush possibility and prob has two pair, trips??

You have 15:40, right? Since his stack is so small he'll probably go all-in on the turn and you only have 1:4 chance of spiking your nut flush, he IS committed however and will probably not fold so you should get the other $35 from him a fair amount of time... let's say you get on average $20 from it (he might have a set and boat up, and he might fold to the flush), that would give you 15:60 which is exactly what you need

That's how stupid MY math is. Obviously you need to factor in the fact that you'll lose your stack when you hit your flush and he boats up.

Unlike most other cases, this is a fold or call rather than raise or fold, or raise or call I think, since you have no fold equity. I think folding is right, you tried a semibluff and got caught, he's not giving you the odds to chase, so you should release.

I will wait for a couple more responses till I give results. Just to make sure people understand my thinking, since this guy is somewhat a muppet with a short stack, I also think my A is good and he just has a T.

You know if the action was a little smaller and his stack a little shallower I would feel great about pushing every single time. I think he is at the top of the borderline for moving in with $50 being the bottom of borderline and $40 a clear easy push.

The joy of moving in, assuming anyone is paying attention is that you are going to get paid off on your big hands, whether you win or lose this one, and you have a fair shot of winning this pot if you add in that he may be semi-bluffing too.

I think folding is the play unfortunately is fold, he lead, you pump it up, and he comes over the top and your fold equity is probably close to zero if you push and all his money should be going in on the turn. These are the kinds of guys that you make your big money when you spike a set and they can't let go of JT when they spike a J, or you hold an overpair to their one pair hand.

But if you are feeling lucky.... all in is the only play.

If he's only 1.11 aggression, I'm putting him on more than top pair. I fold.

ok, you all waited long enough. I ended up calling and a beautiful 5 of spades hit on the turn giving me the nuts. He pushed all in and I called of course. He had KTo with the K of the suit.

I wonder what the hell he put YOU on.




... well not really, we know he just looked at his hand and saw he had BOTH the top pair AND a flush draw, and creamed his pants. He was probably screaming "Call!! Call!!" at the screen.
