I was short stacked and did not have enough chips to make him fold on the turn.

Poker tracker reported that we were 50/50 on the turn to win so I feel that the play after the flop was okay.

Preflop - well, kind of loose. I was mixing up my play which is not really needed at this level. Unlucky flop for me.

I got unlucky and he hit one of his outs.

My choices were to check and fold or riase the flop, go all in for the $23, bet less so that I had more to bet on the Turn.

On the Turn I was stuck.

Any suggestions OTHER than not to play 46s EP. Thanks

Your are rigtht there - with the outs he had there was no amount of money to kill his odds so his calling was correct.

I guess the answer is not to play suited connectors out of position.

Playing suited connectors (and gapppers) out of position is a bad idea. Calling a raise with that hand when you are short is a worse idea. (although you played the hand very well once you got into the hand)

Youre playing a high variance style here. Thats probably not a good idea when youre still learning. You will have losing streaks of 10-15 buy ins or more playing this style. Not playing these type hands is a big factor in the fact that I havent lost more than 6 buy in in over 2 years.

So Iceman, you recommed that I play the standard NL hands only while learning. I think that is an excellent idea.

Which are pairs by poisition, AK and AQs. Maybe KQs for no raise. Leave all the suited connectors and gaps to the more experienced.

Problem with KQ is I flop top two and he flopps a set.

As I said, I am going to drop down a level and work on my game some.

yeah, but you weren't short stacked here. I don't like playing them out of position to a raise but if you do, you definitely have to have a full stack so you get full potential out of them when you hit to even make it worth chasing.
