ATs flopping trips

Postby briachek » Tue Jul 26, 2005 9:32 pm

$50 NL on party. I have full stack.Villain of interest has me barely covered. He is loose and aggressive preflop and normal aggression postflop.

1 limper to me in late MP and I limp with ATo. Button and Sb fold. Villain in BB checks.

Flop is A8A with 2 diamonds.

checks to limper who bets 2, I raise to $6. Villain calls and limper folds. I figure him for A with a worse kicker.

Turn is J

He bets $3 into me. I raise to $9 and he calls.

river is 6 - no flush draw

He goes all in for $40. Can you call that? Easy fold?

yikes! i think in the heat of the moment i would probably call..and then regret it later.

you've got to be losing right??? looks very much like that 6 hit him on the river.

that's a tough one.

i love your flop and turn play though.

Same as Kenny. I'd call and hate myself later. Good news is that he'll probably do this with the few hands you beat, A9-A7 and A2-A5, so at least SOME of the time you will win.

I think it's an easy fold and a good one. If he's pushing just trips he's a complete fool.
