Hero bets 4.00, Villain pushes in, Hero...?

Costs you 10.68 to call, pot's worth almost 28.

Agression from a Calling stations is a monster for sure. I would wait for another opportunity . I would also bet a buy in he has that Q.

Save that 10 bucks for later.

Since you are posting it, I think you might have folded and he showed you the J. If that is the case, it wont be happening often. Fold is the way to go for variance sake and because it s the +EV move there.

I disagree and would call. He could have a Q, but he also may have raised the turn with a Q. Since he didnt odds go down a bit that he doesnt have the Q.

He is probably calling you down with a J and I think you got rivered and now its a split.

Obviously, he might really have the Q, but at close to 3:1, I think you have to call and find out.

Theres always the slim chance that he T9, or some other hand that you have beat and hes trying to push you off your J. I call.

I don't like your bet on the river. a check shows weakness...but then you're inducing bluffs that are a lot easier to call.

I don't see many hands you actually get value with on that river bet. A queen raises and a jack calls. Does anything else call?

i probably wouldn't have bet the turn. I'm thinking check/fold since i'm out of position. Is this too weak? On the river, I agree with kenny. He would have raised the turn with a queen (unless he is a cronic slowplayer) so check/calling the river seems better.

Kenny: If I didn't bet, he'd have pushed anyway (knowing what he had). At that point I'd be faced with calling $15 to win $24. I might have folded, but I doubt it. I figured him for a Jack or a smaller pocket pair with a very slim chance of having the Q.

Result: He held [Jc] (so any PF raise I could reasonably make with AJs would not have pushed him off anyway)

I am pleased to discover that I thought through that last call about as Ice would have, even though it cost me $11 more than it could have.

I think he plays the hand exactly the same with just a Jack. Caling Stations do sometimes show aggression with second nuts.

Overall I had a pretty unlucky night, I think. Could have been up $50 more than I was save for too many second-best hands. But if I would have folded the rest of my second-nuts hands to marginal aggression, I'd have been down for the session instead of up.

I didn't see he was a calling station which makes his raise on the river even more suspect. Often, if you check to a calling station on the turn, they will check with just a jack. I still think I would have check/folded the turn and played the carefully still on the river, probably check/calling as he might not go all in.

If you had checked...he probably would have value bet and you would have saved some money.

trust me...i see it all the time. they love to play their big hands weakly online.

Btw Bigphish I wouldn't even contimplate raising AJs from the bb. I rarely raise from the blinds; unless im protecting a monster and AJs isnt a great hand with 5 seeing a flop. And 5 seeing a flop at 25NL at party no matter what you toss out for a preflop bet; your getting called.
