Two hands up against raises

Postby stealthtt385 » Sun Jul 17, 2005 2:00 am

Party 50 NL

Hand #1
Hero UTG+1 ($48.50) A[c]K[c] raises $2
4 callers

Pot $8.25
Flop
T[d]A[d]K[d]

Hero bets $8.25
MP2 folds
CO Raises all in for $47.50
BB folds
Hero Calls

I didn't put him on a flush or a set because I assume he would have reraised me preflop (at least with that board). I was thinking more along the lines of two pair or maybe holding either the Q[d] or J[d] with a pair. In this case we are pretty even, and it seems like a good place to get your money in. What are your thoughts?

Hand #2
Hero UTG ($61.75) Q[s]Q[d] raises $2
UTG1 calls
UTG2 ($43.80)calls
CO calls

Pot $8.75
Flop

2[c]6[s]2[d]
Hero bets $4
UTG1 folds
UTG2 calls
CO folds

Pot $16.75
Turn

6[d]
Hero bets $10
UTG2 raises $30

What's your play here? There's no way he has an over pair here because he wouldn't just call my preflop raise after a call in front of him, unless it's 99(my notes on him say that he is very solid). I doubt he has a 6 because of his raise on the turn. How do you play this?

Hand #1. don't think I could get away from that.

Hand #2 check/call the turn. You don't have to protect your hand since there aren't any significant draws. A big scare card just came out and you don't wanna get raised off the hand.

Hand #2) I never bet 1/2 pot after raising so I wouldve bet $6-$8 here like I always do. He couldve raised you with TT because he doesnt believe you since you made a 1/2 pot bet. I agree with Kenny though about check/calling the turn.

If you give him a free card, only an ace or king worres you a bit, but would he call the flop with AJ? Not if you bet the pot he wouldnt (or shouldnt)
