thoughts about the river?

1) I'm done with that hand with 2 players to act. Check-fold for me.

2) With a potential flush out there too, calling would be my option too. What would a raise achieve?

Hand 1: I would not be to worried about the gut shot. It is less likely that one of them has J 10 because you hold 2 Jacks in your hand. The button could have been raiseing pre flop with a weak Ace or some kind of paint. I think you have to bite the bullet and bet the turn and see where it goes from there.

Hand 2: I don't think you can play that hand any better.

results on hand 1. I bet and he raised. Pretty much getting odds to chase my gutshot I called and then check fold on the river. The guy wasn't really solid but I'm not ahead of any hand but A9. Everything else beats me so folding seems the right thing.

First hand: Agree with piers 100%- bet and fold if raised. If hes a good enough player to make that raise with a hand that does not beat you (like one crappie pair) then kudos to him. He probably figures you for an overpair, so who knows? But you say he's a muppet, and muppets dont generally make moves like that, and if he does, then ifs time to think about reclassifying him as a LAG/Maniac rather than a muppet.

I think that i would fold rather than go for the gutshot, and if i did go for the gutshot, id probably throw another bet in there on the river just to see what kind of mizorly crap he plays for all those preflop bets, then proceed to flame him for playin 103s. Im not a huge fan of the bet/call/fold...Id either bet/call/call or bet/fold.

SEcond hand was perfect. Raising is tempting, but usually if he bets there, your most likely chopping, and possibly losing, so ...yeah.
