Just a basic hand for fun.

2/4 NL
I have $400..opponent has about $300.

One EP limper. I'm on the button with [8d][7c]. I limp. Alot of people might fold..but I steal many pots in postion..and it's a connector for an added bonus. That's the beauty of higher limit games. SB folds. BB checks.

FLOP $14
[6c][Td][9h]

Talk about some lightening. I have the nuts. Checked to me. I bet $14 to try and build the pot...praying someone think I'm on a steal. BB folds. EP limper calls. I don't have any read on this guy..I just sat down 15 minutes ago..haven't seen him do anything crazy.

TURN $42
[6c][Td][9h][2d]
Backdoor flush draw now..but a great card.

Lone EP opponent checks. I bet $32. Opponent hesitates for quite a while...but finally does call (to my delight.)

RIVER $106
[6c][Td][9h][2d][Ac]
Great card!

Opponent checks to me again. I bet $100. I figure he will call $100 with a set or two pair. He hesitates for a very long time...and calls the bet at the last second.

He mucks [As][Th] and I take the nice pot.

Ice, Rhound, everyone else.. how do you play this basic hand??

Well I sure can't find anything to improve. As Ice said though, better put a note on your opponent and not try to bluff him once he calls your flop bet.

Wow, talk about a passive opponent. Never bets TPTK? Craziness.

"I figure he will call $100 with a set or two pair." Are there people out there who play a set this passively??

I swear. I wish I could limp OTB, flop the nuts, and then have my opponent call pot bets the whole way. You lucky bitch. Good hand!

haha..you haven o idea how lucky I actually was Bensburg.

My internet disconnected immediately after I bet the $100 on the river...if he had raised...it would have folded me. If I had hesitated to try to get a call..I wouldn't have bet the hand...talk about some luck!

Kenny as was commented above, you played this perfectly. Flopping the nuts will often make you look good You did a good job milking him for what you could get, you might have been able to get a couple more bucks out of him on the turn, but overall you played this one, well like a pro. You know since you are one of the best 1/2 NL players in the world
