Is there any possibility of me getting away from this (apart from folding PF)?
UTG is fishy and raises down to 88 in EP, reasonably good, but like me makes mistakes.
Button is sLAG but not much other info.

OK set over set is supposed to be a stackbuster, but can I put UTG on top set with his re-raise on the flop? (or could this easily mean QQ-AA)

Dead in the water slick... I wouldn't have folded PF... He had 10x the raise, so it wasn't a bad chase...

I MAY have gone allin on the flop, just to get it heads up... Other than that, nothin you can do...

Poker... I don't understand that... Wouldn't you want to push while you're still ahead with your trips, and not wait until someone catches their flush so you can fold... That sounds like you're betting and waiting for a reason to fold... If someone's gonna hit a flush against me, it's gonna cost them dearly...

I reraise to about $7 to try to discourage flush draws from calling. Unfortunately, I don't think that guy was going anywhere and neither was the JJ guy so this is easily a stack buster.

MVP, this is something I learned on this forum and I'm not 100% sure it's the correct play.

When you have a set and you know you're up against a flush draw, with deep stacks, I thought it's to your advantage to try to get all in on the turn, when they only have a 1:4 chance to hit, rather than on the flop when they have 1:2 odds to the flush. If you don't think you can do it on the turn, of course you accept the 1:2 odds and do it on the flop.

I don't remember exactly the posts on this, maybe it was referring mostly to high stakes NL.

If you have top set (just to make it clear that you are ahead) against a flush draw then going all-in on the flop and him calling would be a great thing. If he folds-also great, you have protected your hand. The only thing in the middle is if you are trying to juice him for more money. But beware of this b/c if he hits and then you can’t get away it means you were giving him good implied odds.
