I thought was an extremely basic spot to bluff but both of my friends (who are nits by trade) say they check this. Thoughts?

He's got 99-JJ here a LOT and probably isn't folding. And, hard to 'check behind' when you're oop If you were in position, this is definitely a spot to bet the river...but oop it's hard to say whether firing is good or not. I'd probably check 70% and bet 30% here.

In position I'd probably bet 80%+.

Redhouse, I don't think this is what BK is saying. As you know, poker isn't black and white. You can't say "ohh ok, if that was the instead of the on that river, I'd def bet that time" he's saying that as a guesstimate, he's betting X amount of the time and checking X amount of the time as a rule.

If you have read HOH you'll know what I mean.

Since this is 3-bet PF I think your line is solid, and unless your villian has a Q or AK this will probably work.

Think about it (well I don't play at full tilt) but in weak tight small games people aren't 3-betting all that light, your opponent knows this. So he is calling with a pretty tight range, most likely pocket pairs, AQ/AK type hands. I think your opponent will have a hard time calling with an UI PP, since AK, KK or even AA are very much in your range and your bet size is about exactly what you would bet with those hands (maybe a little different with KK).

Anyway, you get looked up by AK or KJ (very unlikely holding). So this is a very good spot to bluff unless your villian is a showdown muppet like me.
